One of the best things about my job working at a home consignment store is getting to hear the stories about what customers have done with purchases that they’ve made at the shop. They send me pictures of their living room that now has the perfect coffee table, thanks to our consignors and our store. They show me how they took an end table and turned it into an art station for their grandson. Or they share their joy at finding the bowl that replaces the one they broke and completes their treasured Auntie’s china set. In other words, they share some of the best things they ever bought secondhand. And I am honored to play a small part in something they value.
We Are Going To Shake It Up With A Contest
So today, as part of our celebration of the upcoming 20th anniversary of Consignments Ltd. (October 17th) I’m taking this concept further. We are announcing a contest for the best thing one of our customers has bought secondhand. And the winner will get a $100 gift certificate to the store.
All you need to do is email me, describing your score. Tell me things like where you got it and what you paid. Share details about how much it means to you and why you love it. If it’s not obvious, let me know how you use it or what you changed about it. If you’ve got pictures of the item, all the better. Entries will be accepted for two weeks (until, Sunday, October 25th) and the winner will be chosen by Holly and me. We will announce that person’s name and item in the blog on Sunday, November 8th
