The pathetic, dilapidated box containing all my gift wrapping supplies, shamed me into this post. The lid didn’t fit and the chaos within took all the fun out of creating a beautiful package. So I got down to googling gift wrap storage solutions and what I found has turned my gift wrapping on its head. Read on for some great ideas…

Gift Wrap Storage Solution: The Skirt Hanger
I love to wrap gifts but sometimes you just have to have a gift bag. My friend, Katie, would say you always need a gift bag, but that’s another blog entirely. LOL. But my supply of gift bags in my crumby flat box was all over the place. Then I saw this idea above, and voila: organized gift bags. A simple skirt hanger (or two or three) is one of the best solutions I’ve found for gift bags. Organize them by size, color or occasion and simply hang them in a spare closet. Genius!

Another Gift Wrap Storage Solution: The Garment Bag
As long as we are dedicating a little space in the closet for gift bags, how about gift wrap rolls, as well? Easy-peasy way to organize these often unwieldy items is the clear garment bag. After putting an elastic around any open rolls to prevent further disorganization, simply slip the rolls into the garment bag and zip up. At a glance, you’ll be able to see all the wraps you have. You can take it a step further and even organize by color or occasion, but you’ll never again lose half a roll to the crush of other gift wrapping items in the box under your bed.
No Hanging Space, No Worries
If you can’t find hanging room in one of your closets, grab a tall, metal or plastic trash can. The rolls will stand up well in this too. Just don’t forget the elastic. And if you have space to mount something on the wall, another great organizer for rolls is the plastic grocery bag dispenser (for used store bags). Several rolls will fit in one of these nicely.
Insider Tip: Thrift and consignment stores, like Consignments Ltd. are great places to find those trash cans, baskets and totes that are the perfect for all your gift wrap storage solutions.

Ribbons, Bows And Little Extras Get Organized Too
I’m a big fan of colorful wrapping string and jute for my packages, but boy can those puppies unravel and make a mess. Quick solution is a recycled glass jar with a metal lid. Drill a hole in the top and you’ve got a great dispenser for these rolls. Organize multiple jars in a plain shoe box or make it prettier in a stylish bin or tote.
Bows are easy to organize in stand up magazine holders from the Dollar Store. Organize them by color or size and then put several of them in a tote or basket.
I also grabbed another small tote from the Dollar Store for the little sundries I add to some of my packages, like Dollar Store ornaments at Christmas time and little kitchen accessories on a shower gift. Hope you get out there and get organized, my friends. Have a lovely day. Marianne
