Thrift Your Gardening Supplies: Vases

If you need a basic, cinched, florist vase, never buy it anywhere other than a thrift or consignment shop. My store is loaded with them and we sell them at Consignments Ltd. for only a few dollars. Local florist come in and buy them from me, so you know they are a bargain. But it’s not just these basics that are available. At thrift and consignment shops you can score anything from a small, crystal Tiffany bud vase to a Belleek, porcelain , hip-high number. Your cut flowers will thank yo when you thrift your gardening supplies.

Outdoor Containers: A Great Find on Thrift and Consignment

I love my locally-owned garden center. It’s one of my favorite places to poke, dream and learn on Saturdays and Sundays. The place is beautifully designed and the staff is so knowledgeable. Containers at the place by me are gorgeous, but wow can they be expensive! Planters and cache pots on consignment, however, are a different story. Generally, you can find gently used containers for one-third, or less, of original retail. Thrifting these gardening supplies will have your home looking wonderful in no time and will leave more in your budget for plants! That’s a win-win.

Insider Tip: Thrift and consignment shops are great places to look for unique planting containers and vases like vintage tool boxes and crates, old ironstone pitchers and enamel pails.
