My yard is exploding with color. If we sit outside, a blanket is, more often than not, an essential. It is Fall in New England and I’m in love with the season (and with Bruce, of course, LOL). My mind is on big, fat pumpkins and hay bales, tart apples and walks through the glorious woods. But I’m also thinking, more than a little bit I’ll admit, about some of my favorite Fall cocktail recipes. So today I will share a few. Let me know what you think?

Favorite Fall Cocktail Recipes: Pumpkin Spice Martini
My daughter Libby pratically keeps a countdown on her calendar for the release of the pumpkin spice coffee at her favorite shop. She is not alone in her love of pumpkin spice, so I think this one should be a slam dunk. I found it on allrecipes.com awhile back and it’s so easy to make. Ingredients are simple and it’s delicious. Need I say more?
What You’ll Need For This Fall Cocktail Recipe:
- 1 cup ice cubes
- 1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger vanilla flavored vodka (such as Stoli)
- 1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger Irish cream liqueur (such as Bailey’s)
- 1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger pumpkin flavored liqueur (such as Hiram Walker)
- 1 pinch ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch ground nutmeg
The how to couldn’t be simpler. Place all the liquid ingredients in a cocktail shaker with the ice. Shake. Mix the two spices together on a plate. Wet the rim of a cocktail glass (like a coupe or a martini) and dip in the spice mix. Pour the strained liquid in the glass. ENJOY! If you’re not into the spiced rim you can simply sprinkle the spice combination on the top of the cocktail or omit it altogether.

Or How About An Apple Cocktail For A Change? It’s a Favorite Fall Cocktail Recipe
If pumpkin is not your thing, first let me say: WHAT??? But after the shock of that has worn off, I can share another favorite Fall cocktail recipe. And this one has nothing do do with those big, orange spheres. Apple cider and Aperol get this one going. FYI: The recipe below makes two servings, not one giant one. LOL.
- 3oz Aperol
- 5oz apple cider
- 5oz persecco
- club soda to dilute slightly if desired
- apple slices to garnish
The how to on this one is equally easy. Put half of each of the liquids into a wine or cocktail glass containing 2-3 ice cubes. Stir slightly to combine. Garnish each glass with an apple slice. YUM!

And Last, But Not Least, For My Bourbon Lovers Out There…
I’m not a big bourbon gal, but so many of my friends are. They love this recipe. I think you will too.
What You’ll Need for This Fall Cocktail Recipe:
- 2 ounces bourbon
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup
- 4 dashes bitters (flavors are cinnamon, cardamon, cloves, anise)
- Orange peel or wedge for garnish
How to make: mix bourbon, maple syrup and bitters in a glass. Stir and add 2-3 ice cubes. Garnish with orange peel or wedge. CHEERS!
Insider Tip: If you currently don’t own a cocktail shaker or maybe you’re void of martini, low ball or coupe glasses, fear not. Consignment and thrift stores, like Consignments Ltd., usually have a supply of these essentials.
